**Responsibilities**:
Provides coordination and confidential administrative support to the Human Resources and Labour Relations Departments.

This position reports to the Senior Advisor, Human Resources and provides support with the day-to-day activities of the department including:

- Coordinating HR program activities (e.g. wellness, healthy workplace, employee recognition, performance management, attendance management, injury claims, vacation scheduling) by tracking and monitoring program activities; liaising with internal/external stakeholders to gather information, follow-up on status, obtain approvals, gather/disseminate/submit reports and information; arranging events and engaging facilitators/service providers; and scheduling activities.
- Carrying out program-related analysis and prepares reports based on researched data and statistics. Produces surveys and coordinates the administration and collection of the data.
- Providing administrative support to HR by producing highly confidential correspondence, memos, and presentation materials from drafts or verbal instructions; composing routine correspondence; taking/preparing minutes; arranging appointments/meetings; opening, reviewing and distributing incoming mail.
- Responding to customer enquiries by screening incoming calls, attending to routine enquiries or referring to others; taking messages; providing information about HR and LR policy and procedures; following up with managers and staff to ensure the complete and timely provision of requested information.
- Maintaining filing/record systems, ensuring efficient and secure storage and retrieval of correspondence, reports, reference material and other documents; compiles, updates and maintains procedural manuals. Monitors expenditures, processes departmental invoices and expense claims/receipts. Maintains HR and LR content on the Intranet.
- Providing backfill for HR Benefits Coordinator during absences.

**Qualifications**:
The requirements for this position would be acquired through a certificate in Human Resources Management (diploma preferred), and post-secondary courses in office administration, plus 2 years’ experience in human resources. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of the principles of human resources
- Solid knowledge of the relevant policies and provisions of the collective agreements
- Solid interpersonal and verbal, written communication skills to explain policies and collective agreement provisions to others, and to exchange related information
- Solid organizational skills to coordinate a diverse range of program-related activities
- Working knowledge of the relevant HR Systems and modules to input, extract and manipulate data and information to address business needs; experience with PeopleSoft and payroll systems is preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must pass an enhanced security clearance to be employed and to remain employed with Transit Police

**Rate of Pay**:
Grade: 2

**Salary**: $59,965 - $74,957

**Conditions of Employment**:
Applicant will be required to possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain enhanced security clearance.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
