DevOps Specialist

**Location: US or CANADA — Possibility to work from home #LI-Remote**

**mdf commerce Inc **. is an international team of approximately 650 experts who develop a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

Working in the eprocurement sector, we are currently looking for a DevOps to join our team. In this role, the DevOps will work closely with the cross-functional engineering team to help deploy and operate multiple systems across the organization. The selected individual will also help to automate and streamline the company’s operational processes. He/she must be knowledgeable in cutting-edge technologies and best practices. Strong communication and documentation skills are required.

**What will your main responsibilities look like?**

In this role, you will be led to:

- Support the company’s cloud-based infrastructure and provide timely, appropriate solutions to resolve issues;
- Work closely with other engineering professionals to specify, build, and maintain environments and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently;
- Build and deploy secure automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions;
- Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team with the latest technologies;
- Analyze current technologies utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them;
- Assist other engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team;
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, mockups, and time necessary;
- Build relationships with your fellow employees in our open office environment, and be humble and accountable while expecting the same from other members of the team.

**What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent;
- 5+ years of experience administering Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Amazon Linux) with ability to script in languages such as BASH and Python;
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working in AWS with services and resources such as VPC, EC2, RDS, EFS, S3, IAM, SSO, EKS, CloudFront, Elasticsearch, ElastiCache, Route53;
- 3+ years of experience with software development pipeline tools: Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins;
- 3+ years of experience with configuration management: Ansible, Saltstack;
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, Ansible;
- 3+ years of experience with monitoring and observability: Zabbix, DataDog, Weave, Prometheus;
- Experience with virtualization and container management systems: Docker, Kubernetes;
- Experience with automation and software delivery/deployment;
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to facilitate the orderly execution of proposed project plans;
- Experience with networking and network security: Cisco Meraki experience, an asset.

**What are the assets that would make you stand out?**
- Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures;
- Ability to develop solutions, including automation, for identified problem spaces and communicate effectively with stakeholders;
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to facilitate the orderly execution of proposed project plans;
- Excellent English and French language skills.
