**BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION**
Reporting to Director-Operations, Port of Vancouver, the incumbent will be responsible for performing towing maneuvers on a tugboat, directing a crew and managing the maintenance of the vessel. You will be required to work in the British Columbia area.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate vessels according to company practices and those recognized by the industry;
- Lead a crew and promote the company's health and safety program;
- Ensure the implementation of the company's maintenance program;
- Ensure the sound management of the material under your responsibility.
- Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Canadian Master's Certificate 500 GRT;
- Medical certificate issued by Transport Canada;
- Skills certificates:
- MED Basic Safety STCW-2010;
- Ability to operate lifeboats and rescue boats;
- MED Advanced firefighting.
- Restricted Operator's Certificate - Commercial Maritime (ROC-CM);
- Certificate of marine basic first aid training at sea;
- Knowledge in operating a quality system with ISM standards (SMS);
- Valid driver's license (class 5).
