**About Us**:
The Department of Western Technology Services (WTS) is a central source committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective technology solutions and services to the campus community in support of the teaching and research missions of the University. WTS works collaboratively with other IT groups within Western’s faculties and support units to leverage central supported technology solutions and services where appropriate.

**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the installation and termination of communications and security cables throughout various buildings and construction sites within the University of Western Ontario Campus while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service. Interact with customers and contractors across campus and on construction sites.
- Accept responsibility and ownership for assigned work.
- Complete paperwork including time logs and material sign out sheets.
- Contribute to work team to ensure proper equipment is available for the completion of job assignments and ensures the security of all company equipment from loss, theft or damage. Adhere to all University of Western Ontario Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Must be a student returning to full-time studies in the fall

**Experience**:
Previous general labour work experience and knowledge of cabling technology are assets

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

- Ability to take direction while under the supervision of a lead technician
- Ability to climb ladders, and work at heights
- Ability to distinguish colour-coded wire, interpret installation drawings, and work with tools
- Ability to perform duties with mínimal supervision, may be required to work alone in some situations
- Willingness to learn and undertake new challenges and complete work within assigned timeframes
- Proficient in English (written & verbal)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must provide own approved level safety shoes (will be discussed with leader)
