Hydrovac Operator

**Position**: Hydrovac Operator

**Location**: Projects around Southwestern Ontario, Canada

**Hours**: Full time, 5 days per week.

**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Safely drive and operate hydrovac trucks to expose underground utilities.
- Read and understand utility locates.
- Work with drillers and other team members when working around existing utilities.
- Fill up water at nearby filling stations, and unload at nearby dumping yards.
- Transport the truck to and from parking yards.
- Safely load, unload, and transport equipment and materials between yards and job locations.
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- Complete daily inspections and driver logs throughout the day.
- Understand and implement CVOR and Book 7 requirements each day.
- Help other labour disciplines with installing conduits, vaults, peds, backfilling, etc. as the need arises.
- Engage in training including health and safety and job-specific skills.

**Position Requirements**:

- Team player with a good attitude, work ethic, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety.
- DZ license with experience operating hydrovac trucks. AZ licence is an asset.
- Experience working with underground utilities and operating other types of equipment is an asset.
- Clean Driver Record and CVOR.
- Physically fit; able to safely perform manual labour and work with heavy equipment.
- Willingness to travel.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and inclement weather.
- Track record demonstrating responsibility, craftsmanship, and a high degree of ownership over your work.

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- truck driving: 1 year (preferred)
