**Job Summary**:
Salary Pending Review

Reporting to the Manager, the Health Analyst works in conjunction with the Manager, Epidemiologists, the Geospatial Health Specialist, Data Analysts and Program staff on data extraction, cleaning, descriptive and complex analyses, interpretation, report generation and dissemination. Uses quantitative and qualitative software to manipulate and analyze a variety of data. The Health Analyst requires the ability to analyze health related data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. Provides consultation with a variety of community stakeholders to encourage evidence-informed decision-making.

**Education**:

- Post-secondary degree in Public Health/Health Sciences/Statistics/Epidemiology/Biostatistics discipline
- Masters in Epidemiology/Statistics/ Biostatistics/Public Health/Health Sciences (Essential)
- Knowledge and skills in the area of GIS as determined by undertaking relevant undergraduate or preferably post graduate courses or equivalent certification
- Knowledge and skills in qualitative data collection and analyses as determined by relevant undergraduate or masters level courses in qualitative methods or equivalent experience

**Knowledge**:

- At least 2 years of experience working in a health-related statistics/data analyst/research role, preferably within a Health Department/Hospital/Research Department/University
- Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely; explain work to non-technical clients and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- At least 6 months of experience working in a Public Health department is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and experience in the use of a variety of software utilized in the analyses of data (e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, R, Excel)
- Knowledge and experience of using Public Health Surveillance systems (i.e. CCHS, IntelliHealth, StatsCan)
- Knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data acquisition, coordination, analysis, interpretation and management and dissemination
- Demonstrated experience in the analyses and interpretation of qualitative information using appropriate methods/software (e.g. NVivo).
- Research and evaluations skills to collect, analyze, synthesize, and report on assigned projects

**Responsibilities**:
