**Job Purpose**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
- Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials.
- Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
- Prepare the surfaces for paints or other finishes.
- Operate high pressured equipment to shoot abrasives, to etch, clean, smooth or shop hard surfaces such as glass, rock or metal.
- Operate equipment that introduces compressed air into a mixing chamber.
- Operate shop equipment (i.e.: Forklift)
- Mask off areas to be protected from abrasives.
- Clean, repair and maintain hoses, nozzles, machines and air compressors.
- Work with journeyman welders.
- Perform general housekeeping to ensure the bay/shop and yard is clean and organized.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and follow appropriate procedures.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.

**Working Conditions**
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Inside/outside temperatures fluctuate so appropriate layered outerwear should be considered when preparing for activity throughout the property, depending on the season.
- Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
