Responsibilities:
This position will be required to do Ophthalmic Technician role on non-surgery days and MDRD role on surgery days. Detailed job requirements are as follows:

- Perform pre-operative and post-operative diagnostics on patients with best possible precision and accuracy (Pentacam, OCT, I-Trace, Lenstar, Lensometer) and upload the patient data to the EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
- Run the required daily and weekly calibrations on the diagnostic machines and shut down the room before leaving for the day.
- Provide professional and courteous patient care, respect and maintain patient privacy, maintain a steady and efficient patient flow.
- Must be a quick learner and able to multi-task, good team player and able work independently as well.
- Operate and maintain table-top sterilization equipment and reprocessing instrumentation in accordance with standardized safety practices and manufacturer recommendations.
- Clean and pack small, hand-held instruments for sterilization in instrument trays.
- Run daily monitoring tests on all sterilizers and ensure proper documentation of records and log sheets.
- Support cleaning in procedural rooms between cases in accordance with established CPSO standards.
- Ensure disposition of laundry, garbage, sharps and bio-hazardous waste according to established procedure.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related field preferred
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and instruments
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to perform basic calculations and measurements accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Sterile Processing Certificate (MDRD) from recognized Canadian Post-Secondary Institution preferred, or online certification through the CSA OHP program.
- Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
