**Position Summary**:
The Manager of Security Services is responsible to ensure all of the security requirements at the Division's schools, non-teaching facilities and lease buildings are met, The incumbent will review and implement policies and procedures related to security and oversee the design and implementation of division security and emergency preparedness.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- overseeing security monitoring, incident response and emergency response at all instructional and non-instructional Division sites
- ensuring regular drill schedules at all Division sites to ensure that lockdown and evacuation drills are progressive, dynamic and result in staff and student readiness
- designing and implementing required staff and student training and education efforts
- assisting, advising and supporting schools and central departments to stabilize emergent situations prior to the arrival of police
- coordinating video camera installations and ensure that all such installations meet legal requirements
- overseeing the recruitment, evaluation and selection of all consultants, monitoring, and CFE front reception staff reporting to Security Services
- coordinating security services support for meetings
- advising security consultants who provide investigation services related to illegal activities such as break and enters, vandalism and thefts
- ensuring organized, timely and accurate documentation exists for all Division sites relating to Security Services and emergency preparedness
- recommending Key Performance Indicators that will improve accountability and transparency to achieve secure environments for all staff and students
- designing and implementing a security audit function, with accurate, timely documentation intended to identify gaps and support ongoing improvement
- establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance division security and emergency preparedness

**Education/Qualifications**:

- diploma in a related field such as Security Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management
- a minimum of six years related experience including threat assessment, critical incident response, security management, investigations, police and security procedures
- Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) Level I & II certification
- Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VRTA) Level II certification
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or working towards certification
- Incident Command System training
- knowledge of emergency and intrusion systems, laws and regulations
- strong communication and conflict management skills
- sound quick judgement, calm temperament, critical incident response experience, knowledge of criminal law

**Rate of Pay**:
$4,131.40 - $5,343.80 bi-weekly
