Reports To: Warehouse and Quality Control Manager

Department: Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Warehouse & Quality Control Manager, the Logistics Supervisor is someone who oversees the shipment and delivery of goods in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include tracking shipments, negotiating rates and find cost effective solutions. This is a supervisory role.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or industrial engineering

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years logistics co-ordination experience
- Ability to effectively operate all equipment and computer programs associated with the finished goods department (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Excel, Outlook etc.)

Other Requirements:

- Understand the ins and outs of the ocean freight process
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
- Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail; ability to remain focused and organized
- Valid driver’s license required for occasional local travel between facilities

**Responsibilities**:
Ocean Freight:

- Establish and manage relations with carriers, custom brokers
- Negotiate competitive rates with freight forwarders
- Evaluate the quality and service of 3rd party carriers and hold them accountable
- Monitor shipments from 3 factories (Shanghai, Taiwan, and Vietnam)
- Continuously communicate any change of ETAs to the necessary staff
- Evaluate market trends
- Approve and track ocean invoices

LTL Road Transport:

- Negotiate competitive rates with carriers
- Provide dimensions and weight to the Logistics Co-Ordinator for quotation purposes
- Monitor quotations in an organized manner
- Evaluate the quality and service of 3rd party carriers and hold them accountable
- Document and track lost or damaged shipments
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative work procedures and practices

Third Party Warehousing:

- Monitor and arrange transfers between warehouses
- Track space used in third party locations
- Approved and track storage invoices based on accurate space

Safety:

- Conduct monthly warehouse inspection
- Follow all safety policies

Maintain Work Practices:

- Maintain work environment to 5S standards
- Punctual: begins work on time and returns from lunch and breaks on time
- All paperwork and database entries filled out completely and accurately
- Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers

Marginal Job Functions:

- Other projects as assigned.

Key Performance Indicators
- Weekly incoming container report
- Quote to invoice accuracy > 95%
- Securing trucks within same day > 98%

**Skills**:

- Gain knowledge of inventory system, product acceptance criteria and product quality checklists
- Learn and incorporate the 5S program
