**Position Summary**

The Town of Ingersoll is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the Victoria Park

Community Center in the position of Aquatics Supervisor. Reporting to the Manager of VPCC, the program supervisor will be responsible to provide aquatics programming and services to the patrons and residents of Ingersoll.

Our pool is a 25m 4 lane pool with two small teaching pools attached. Overlooked by our fitness room with brand new fitness equipment, and a large seating area for viewing your child’s swimming lessons just off the pool deck. Our pool temperature sits at a nice 84 degrees which makes it an ideal temperature for swimming lessons and is comfortable for lane swimming.

Specifically, the supervisor will be responsible for:

- Responsible for the overall operation of the Aquatics area including but not limited to administrative functions, supervision, program and content development and program implementation.
- Plan, administer, promote and supervise aquatics programs and services offering a wide range of choice for individuals, groups, and families.
- Develops, recommends and implements new programs and services in accordance with Department goals and objectives as they relate to both short-term and long-term horizons and long-term capital plans
- In collaboration with the VPCC Manager, develop/promote/facilitate aquatics programming initiatives to maximize facility usage and revenue generation.
- Maintain aquatics programming and service quality, ensure part time staff are working safely and providing age appropriate assistance to participants.
- Preparing and being an active participant in special events within the community
- Instructing and leading various aquatics programs
- Ensure the safety and security of participants and the facility by providing direct supervision of participants and by adhering to facility health and safety policies and procedures.
- Act as a positive role model by interacting with all participants in an appropriate, respectful and professional manner
- Works with the Customer Service Success Supervisor to create program brochures, program flyers, newsletters, etc. and undertakes target marketing to ensure that participants are informed.
- Deals with facility user groups, members, residents, spectators, etc. always ensuring a high level of customer service and public relations.
- Research community needs, demographics, trends and best practices for aquatics programs to ensure they are appropriate and targeted effectively
- Assist in the preparation and oversight of the Aquatics departmental operating budget.

**Qualifications**
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player and coach who is able to establish effective working relationships with a variety of groups including Council, employees, visitors and the general public
- Community College graduate in Recreation/ Leisure Studies or Kinesiology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Currently recognized certification including; Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainers, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer, N.L.S. and First Aid Courses.
- Current C.P.R., Standard First Aid
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in recreation, leisure studies, kinesiology or related field
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in aquatics programming, services and coordination is required and in a municipal setting is considered an asset

**Availability**

This is a new, full time working supervisor position. The employee will be scheduled 35 hours per week. The hours of work are flexible and based on operational needs and program schedule demands. This will include being available to work days, evenings, and weekends.

**Hourly Wage Rate**: This position falls within our non-union pay bands M with a salary range of $55, 874 - $65, 374.40 annually based on 35 hours per week.
