**Why we have this role**:
As the GVF group of companies continues to grow, so does the need for data-driven reports and analytical support which is foundational to making sound financial decisions. In this role you will be responsible for providing financial, analytical, and reporting support across multiple divisions within GVF. The role will focus on key areas of the business including pricing, sales and gross margin analysis, and business systems. Reporting into the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the role will be instrumental in supporting day-to-day operations, the monthly and quarterly planning cycles, as well as supporting project work on new systems implementation.
**Working with us**:
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our head office at 151 Savage Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. You will have the flexibility to work from home one day a week. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
**What you’ll do**:
- Maintain pricing models required for weekly, monthly or quarterly pricing cycles.
- Prepare contract pricing and quotes for strategic accounts including gathering input data from the purchasing and nutrition teams, creating price pages and loading pricing in the system.
- Continuously improve pricing processes, including developing and maintaining pricing-related SOP documents and associated flowcharts as required.
- Maintain key master data pertaining to inventory items seamlessly across multiple platforms, including formulation software and the ERP.
- Assist in developing and supporting Power BI functionality, including reports and dashboards which convey business results to the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders within the GVF group of companies.
- Perform reconciliations as needed to tie PowerBI content to accounting records and financial statements or to validate operational data accuracy and completeness.
- Work collaboratively within a cross functional team to provide input and ideas surrounding master data design and structure for upcoming newly implemented formulation and ERP systems.
- Support the roll out of new systems with data preparation, testing and ongoing maintenance of newly implemented workflows.
- In conjunction with the Director of FP&A contribute to the preparation of content for management reports for the Board of Advisors and internal Quarterly Planning Cycle.
- Assist in the monitoring of actual financial results & performance against plan and prior year, investigating variances where required and suggesting opportunities for improvement.
- Hoc duties as required.
**Your background includes**:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, accounting or finance is required
- 3+ years of relevant work experience as a financial analyst or a similar role
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the requirement to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
- Keen eye for detail and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy
- Highly analytical with an insatiable curiosity to understand ‘why’
- Self-starter with a passion and drive to take tasks on and run with them
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Excel and other financial software
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting procedures as well as reporting and expense analysis.
- Agricultural industry experience considered an asset
- Experience with Power BI, Great Plains, or Sage considered an asset
