Reporting to the Manager, Business & Systems Analysis Chapter, the **Business Systems Consultant** has deep knowledge of a wide variety of business concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to IT and general operations. They rely on their expertise, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and to perform a variety of tasks. The Business Systems Consultant conducts needs analysis, writes user stories, collaborates with others, and supports the team to increase productivity and reduce costs.

**What will you do?**
- Work with the Product Owner to facilitate requirement gathering workshops.
- Facilitate discovery work with business and technical teams to understand what problems need solving, what the client needs are, and define the scope related to this.
- Translate business vision, operational challenges, and data needs into requirements/epics/user stories/data mapping documents.
- Work with the Tech Lead to conduct analysis on business requests with a focus on preparing solution options and recommendations.
- Perform data analysis for feasibility study, to support decision making, define business rules, and ensure smooth transition.
- Translate data and technical capabilities into solutions to implement business vision or solve operational challenges.
- Understand the big picture to define business capabilities and go forward roadmap.
- Review and provide feedback to business and technical documentation
- Work with business on the roll out of what has been developed
- Support testing with a focus on end-to-end validation

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Relevant agile digital delivery experience
- Knowledge of insurance fin tech products and/or insurance distribution is an asset
- Demonstrate knowledge of business and/or technology platforms or ability to learn about technology and digital products, experience working on technical products
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate both complex business and technical concepts and align organization on decisions
- Sound problem-solving/analytical skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
- Strong interpersonal / relationship building skills with technical and business personnel
- The ability to adapt to various software development methodologies and ways of working.
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Consultant/Business Systems Consultant with proven track record of systems or digital capabilities implementations in financial services
- Comfortable with data requirements and related data activities/deliverables
- Passionate about the client, technology and excited about the impact of emerging / disruptive technologies
- Possess growth mindset and passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas
- Believe in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust
