As a Correctional Officer, you are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of those in custody through fair and equitable programming, guidance and direction. In this position, you will take an active role in creating a supportive environment by providing opportunities for positive attitude and behavioural change through community service work.

Adult Custody, part of the Corrections Branch, is responsible for the care of approximately 2,800 individuals in our care. This division plays a leading role in the criminal justice system through offender management and control.

**Job Requirements**:

- 19 years of age or older
- Grade 12 or equivalent*
- Grade 12 English with a final grade of 70% or equivalent*- For further detailed information on Grade 12 and Grade 12 English equivalencies, please view the “Applicant Process” attachment located in the Additional Information section at the bottom of this posting.

Note: Current BC Correctional Officers are exempt from providing documentation already submitted, or undergoing assessments completed, when hired into the position.

Applicants that meet the minimum requirements AND submit the required documentation for Grade 12 graduation and Grade 12 English will be invited to complete further assessments in the hiring process as noted below and according to the tentative assessment schedule.
