**Purpose of the job**

Contrans, part of TFI, North America's largest transportation company, has an opening for a Dispatcher located in Cornwall, ON or La Prairie, QC.

The role of the Dispatcher is to properly manage our fleet and drivers and ensure they have all the information and tools they need to perform their duties. We are looking for a fast, bright and enthusiastic individual who wants to grow within our organization where the sky is the limit for your career ambitions.

**Specifics**

1. Schedule drivers and equipment to appropriate locations or tank washes based on our customers' requests, specifications or needs

2. Ensure all drivers and owner-operators are fully utilized and monitor their progress throughout the month to ensure Contrans Bulk is meeting driver and owner-operator expectations

3. Enter orders into our TMS and confirm that the appropriate information accompanies the order based on customer requirements

4. Work closely with customer service to address customer questions or concerns to provide the service and satisfaction our customers need

5. Receive paperwork from drivers and ensure it arrives at the customer service/billing department in a timely manner

6. Communicate effectively with drivers, co-workers, and customers and adhere to the company's communication policy

7. Handle after-hours calls regarding drivers and customer needs

**Education and Experience**

1. Post secondary education in business or logistics

2. Bilingual English/French is a must

3. TMS/AS400 experience or equivalent is an advantage

4. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word and Excel

5. 2-5 years of shipping experience is an advantage

6. Understanding of basic US and Canadian transportation regulations, i.e. weight restrictions, hours of service.

Understanding of hours of service regulations for Canada and the US, weight restrictions of various equipment, i.e. tandem, tridem, quad, customs knowledge, setting up routes for drivers and ensuring they have time to pick up and/or deliver, understanding of maintenance requirements

**Spécifiques**

1. Planifiez les chauffeurs et l’équipement aux endroits appropriés ou aux lavages de citernes en fonction des demandes, des spécifications ou des besoins de nos clients

2. S'assurer que tous les chauffeurs et les propriétaires-exploitants sont pleinement utilisés et surveillez leurs progrès tout au long du mois pour s’assurer que Contrans Vrac répond aux attentes du conducteur et du propriétaire-exploitant

3. Entrez les commandes dans notre TMS et confirmez que les informations appropriées accompagnent la commande en fonction des exigences du client

4. Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le service à la clientèle pour répondre aux questions ou aux préoccupations des clients afin de fournir le service et la satisfaction dont nos clients ont besoin

5. Recevoir les documents des chauffeurs et s'assurer qu’ils arrivent au service à la clientèle / service de facturation en temps opportun

6. Communiquez efficacement avec les chauffeurs, les collègues et les clients et respectez la politique de communication de l’entreprise

7. Gérer les appels après les heures de travail en ce qui concerne les chauffeurs et les besoins des clients

**Études et expérience**

1. Études postsecondaires en affaires ou en logistique

**2. **Bilingue anglais/français est un must**

3. L’expérience TMS/système AS400 ou équivalent est un avantage

4. Expérience intermédiaire dans Microsoft Word et Excel

5. 2-5 ans d’expédition est un avantage

6. Compréhension de la réglementation de base des transports aux États-Unis et au Canada, c
- est-à-dire les restrictions de poids, les heures de service.

Compétences spécifiques à l’emploi : Compréhension des règlements sur les heures de service pour le Canada et les États-Unis, restrictions de poids de divers équipements, c.à-d. tandem, tridem, quad, connaissances douanières, mise en place des routes pour les chauffeurs et s’assurer qu’ils ont le temps de ramasser et / ou de livrer, compréhension des conditions d’entretien
