The Business Analyst - Project Implementation provides project leadership, configuration management testing and support for assigned financial subsystems. The role is engaged in all stages of project deployment and ensures users and project teams are kept abreast of all aspects. This position is an integral member of the Financial Systems team and provides input into short and long-term strategic planning.

**Job Responsibilities Include**:

- Assist throughout the entire process of implementing of financial software
- Develop information on work instructions, process mapping and gap analysis
- Establish project completion/acceptance criteria integration projects
- Develop plans and leads staff on testing and implementation of upgrades and modifications
- Work with staff and vendors to identify and implement upgrades
- Support system and change management, documentation of processes and business practices
- Perform lead responsibilities for assigned subsystems
- Initiate functional solutions for the unit
- Coach, mentor, guide and support staff in service delivery
- Develop plans and timelines and monitor to ensure an efficient and effective workflow
- Serve as key liaison with Division staff
- Provide functional guidance to department teams during implementation
- Participate in meetings from planning to decision point
- Organize logistics, record meeting notes, update action items and follow-up
- Provide regular updates and generate status reports
- Investigate and support inquiries and change requests
- Identify and resolve project issues and escalate where required
- Monitor timelines to ensure adherence with approved plans
- Create and maintain project documentation
- Document, report and escalate variances to project manager
- Analyze and recommend data integration
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Technology Services to resolve issues
- Ensure on-going data integrity
- Generate reporting for use by the Manager
- Develop and maintain documentation in accordance with procedures
- Assist team during period of heavy workload and during absences
- Participate in unit meetings
- Contribute to short
- and long-term strategic planning activities
- Participate celebrations, special events and projects
- Maintain technical knowledge through a range of professional development activities

**Qualifications Include**:
**Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Accounting or Information Systems, plus three years related experience.**
- Knowledge of accounting principles including financial data analysis, data-mining, journal entries and reconciliations
- Knowledge of SQL and Financial ERP Systems
- Knowledge of project management techniques and principles
- Knowledge of workplace safety and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Understanding of the educational environment and its unique technical requirements.
- Understanding of district businesses, operations and programs
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to a range of non-technical clients
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think strategically, systematically and to identify key issues
- Strong collaborative and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and be result oriented.
- Strong needs assessment and consultation skills, customer service focused attitude and the ability to conduct needs assessment of non-technical users
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts in a simple understandable format
