**Delivery Driver - G class / D or DZ class**

**Position Overview**

Responsible for the delivery and handling of product via established routes in safe and timely matter. Additional assistance is required for loading and offloading of vehicle at various warehouses and job sites.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate and drive vans, light, and medium trucks to pick up and deliver various products
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safety
- Deliver products over established routes
- Accept or make payments for goods
- Assist and ensure correct loading of vehicle, bars, straps, etc.
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
- Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods
- Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
- Communicate with central dispatch
- Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
- Assist in loading and unloading of vehicle

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years of previous driving experience on trucks. (5 ton / no air brakes)
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Valid G Class Ontario Driver License required D or DZ preferred
- Clean Driver’s abstract (no violations in past 2 years)
- **Applicants will need to bring a letter confirming previous commercial driving experience**:

**Work Conditions**
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 100 lbs.
- Warehouse and outdoor weather conditions.
- Interacts with management, colleagues, visitors, and customers.
- Frequently noisy working environment.
- Overtime as required.
- Use of PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe boots required.
