**Background**:
The Sqewqel Development Corporation (SQDC) Summer Intern program is a unique opportunity for a person (over the age of 19) who is enrolled full-time in a recognized university business degree program to have the opportunity to learn new and practical business skills and to become more aware of working within a First Nation business setting.

Furthermore, in this role the SQDC Business Intern will work with the SQDC team by providing project support and coordination, marketing, conducting business intelligence research and other duties as assigned. This position is for 35 hours per week at $20 per hour.

**Program Duration**: 8 Weeks from start date with option for renewal

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Conduct Research.
- Project and Administrative Support.
- Sales & Marketing.
- Prepare a Training Session with SQDC staff in a key area of business.
- Proposal Writing.
- Due diligence processes & business plan development.
- Prepare presentation materials for internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.
- Provide content to the SQDC and Nations Creations websites.
- Participate in Meetings (as required);
- Complete a Monthly Progress Report; and
- Duties as Assigned.

**Requirements**:
The following criteria outline the complementary knowledge and mindset you'll bring to our team:

- Business or Finance student actively attending a recognized Canadian university.
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Excellent writing & computer skills
- Proposal writing experience & strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, as well as impeccable business judgment.
- Effective organizational skills, and the capability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Assess situations rapidly and prioritize tasks and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to learn about new trends, tools, and technologies, and to continually consider how these will influence our work, including the implications and opportunities that they will bring.
- Ability to easily shift between low-level technical conversations and high-level go-to-market strategy
conversations.
- Proactive in seeking out opportunities to help move projects forward and contribute to their improvement.
- An openness to soliciting feedback to improve your performance.
- A philosophy of continuous improvement and a passion for knowledge sharing.
- Ability to work remotely or on-site (SIB office, Pioneer building)

Must be eligible to work in Canada.
