**ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY**

Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) is a health service that provides a safe and supportive environment for people to consume pre-obtained substances under medical supervision. In addition to supervised consumption, individuals are provided with sterile harm reduction supplies, education on safer substance use/overdose prevention, medical monitoring post-consumption, medical assessment, counselling, and connections to primary care, addiction treatment, mental health support and other services.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Lived experience with substance use is a requirement;
- Knowledge and understanding of harm reduction philosophies and practices;
- Emergency First Aid (or equivalent) and CPR level C (Health Care Provider level, preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Strong ability to work and build trust with marginalized individuals including those who are street involved, actively using substances and who struggle with mental health issues.
- Understanding of Indigenous Cultural Safety principles, anti-oppressive practice and trauma-informed care;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team;

**PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES**
- Works in the post-consumption area, establishing a welcoming space and positive relationship with service users;
- Provides post-consumption monitoring for overdose/adverse reaction and assisting with overdose/emergency intervention when required;
- Provides harm reduction education and access to harm reduction / overdose prevention supplies;
- Ensures that initial information collection and intake/consent forms are completed;
- Establishes and maintains knowledge of community resources, and provides that information to services users;
- Build rapport to inspire hope and empowerment by sharing about own personal experience when appropriate
- Completes daily checks of the building, including the external perimeter, for improperly discarded harm reduction supplies and when needed properly dispose of supplies.
