The department of Reactor Core Physics at SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy is engaged in design and analysis work to support the design of new CANDU Nuclear Power Plants as well as supporting the operation and safety of the existing domestic and international CANDU plants. The junior reactor physicist will work under senior staff to perform technical analysis using up-to-date reactor physics codes, such as WIMS, DRAGON, RFSP and MCNP.

**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Perform reactor physics analyses in support of the design, reactor operation and safety.
- Prepare inputs for computer codes and run reactor physics computer codes, consistent with cases to be analyzed.
- Collate results from different analyses.
- Document analyses in technical notes and reports, and present results at meetings.

**What will you contribute?**
- A Relevant honors degree from a university of recognized standing in Physics or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent; reactor physics experience and/or background is a strong asset.
- Must be conversant with computer environments; proficiency in both Linux and WINDOWS environments is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in computer programming, especially FORTRAN, is desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible, i.e., must be able to perform varied work assignments effectively and respond quickly to changing project needs.
- Ability to show initiative while working in a team environment.
- Ability to work to budget and schedule.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally to participate in meetings and workshops.
- Full commitment to working in a formal QA environment.
