**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to**:

- Act as primary CBU Environmental and Regulatory Subject Matter Expert on water usage and provincial water conservation policy’s.
- Help the business respond to inspections, audits and non-compliances as required focusing on environmental mitigation and compliance. High-grade Chevron water term licenses and optimize the portfolio of licenses
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for water diversion licenses.
- Department of Fisheries contact and SME for activities involving surface water diversion and impacts to water courses for construction activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate Engagement with AER representatives and key internal stakeholders on a regular basis related to water conservation, water licensing, wildlife impacts etc.
- Participate in Industry Committees such as: CAPP Water Act Committee, CAPP Wetland Policy Task Group, CAPP Biodiversity, Fox Creek Operators Group (FCOG) and Little Smoky Water Users Group (LSWUG) and remain aware on key initiatives.
- Assist key stakeholder including Health, Safety Environment & Regulatory (HSER) team members in understanding environmental regulatory obligations
- Propose solutions to ensure compliance and while allowing the Water Team to conduct diversion operations.
- Provide support and assistance to Chevron Environmental Risk Management Program(ERMP) implementation. Environmental data review and gap assessment. Review and validation of past environmental risk assessments. Understanding of current regulatory processes that require environmental risk assessment.
- Provide support to business on requirements associated with flaring and venting (AER Directive 60). Includes understanding flaring and venting thresholds, required air modelling, review of exceedance reporting and enforcement, notification and permit requirements.
- Technical understanding of noise impact assessment modelling and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of species at risk and requirements related to mitigating impacts to those species (eg Caribou)
- Be the Chevron Canada Qualified Environmental Facilitator (QEF) and facilitate environmental risk assessment workshops.
- Act as Third-party Waste Stewardship (TWS) advisor
- Work with CTC for alignment, compliance and update of TWS standard
- Waste disposal facility inspections
- Waste management coordination
- Waste reporting management
- Back up for field E&R support (example includes but not limited to spill response, sampling and cleanup)
- Wildlife management related to environmental constraints (key wildlife areas) and understanding restricted access periods that may exist for these areas.
- Plan, execute, coordinate environmental and regulatory assurance activities.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Degree in an environment related field of study (eg Biology, Environmental Science).
- Understanding of Alberta and BC OH&S regulations and a working knowledge of environmental regulations is required
- 1-5 years' experience in environmental field
- Good communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic with internal drive to succeed.
- Demonstrated ability to work and influence key stakeholders outside of the HSE
- Demonstrated ability to interact, influence, work collaboratively, build consensus and resolve issues proactively with stakeholders.
- Can provide and receive both positive and opportunity feedback and demonstrates skills to challenge in a non-confrontational way.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Oil and gas related experience is an asset
- Environmental work with 1-2 years of direct field experience
- AB & BC Regulatory knowledge
