**General Accountabilities**:

- Under the direction of the Forestry Superintendent, the Forestry Manager has the primary accountability for managing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance and capital work programs within their assigned Territory(s) for both Distribution and Transmission Forestry Right of Way assets.
- Manage and supervise both internal, hiring hall and contract staff; organize, schedule and assign demand and special duties to clerical, technical, trades and Society staff, providing instruction, guidance and checks necessary to ensure work Safety, quality and accuracy and conformity to governing regulations.

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Responsible for provision of a wide range of Forestry related activities for both distribution and transmission assets, such as; customer demand work, minor and major capital, off cycle request, distribution cycle clearing, transmission line clearing, herbicide brush control, mechanical brush control, access road and bridge maintenance, helicopter sites and emergency trouble response.
- Assist the Forestry Superintendent by the monitoring of forestry operations through the review of accomplishments, data collection activities, and cost and reliability data and through field audits/assessments to ensure line clearing and chemical vegetation control meets established standards
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and programs in the areas of work management, scheduling, asset planning and operations, customer relations, and information management within timelines
- Act as a champion for process and technology improvements that facilitate the timely and accurate flow of work from identification, to assignment, to work execution, work reporting, and finally closure.
- Ensure these changes are done in a manner that the appropriate level of consistency and integrity are maintained throughout the Forestry organization
- Maintain corporate databases containing data relating to Forestry operations workflow, asset condition, equipment deficiencies, resource availability, work schedules, work reporting, and work accomplishment status and maintenance history.
- Prepare and distribute scorecards and detailed reports for use by customer groups, namely Forestry Superintendents and Managers, Provincial Forester, Asset Managers and Financial Managers.
- Direct Output Support to the Zone Superintendent - Provincial Forestry Services
- Manage and effect change through the EH&S Managed System focusing on continual improvement in employee health and Safety performance including execution of rehabilitation strategies;
- Assist and define 1-3 year resourcing requirements for a defined Territory(s) and manage the mix of internal and external resources (including contractors) with respect to labor agreements;
- Manage a skilled internal and external workforce to meet the resourcing requirements of the assigned Transmission and Distribution work programs. Ensure the workforce is mobile and capable of safely meeting the requirements of the TX & DX work programs
- Manage the allocated portion (approx. $40 million) of the overall Zone work program per territory of approx. $6-8 million - labor resource and equipment assigned to the defined territory.
- Manage a labor resource complement of approximately 25 to 75 staff per territory.
- Ensure work program is coordinated and completed in Safe, efficient and timely manner, adjust programs as required.
- Execute program to improve Safety, customer satisfaction, work execution efficiencies and ensure use of funds are appropriate.
- Assist and support the Forestry Superintendent in managing and affecting changes in labor relations to ensure a more competitive environment; manage relationship with unions to ensure business goals and contracts are economically met and to achieve a competitive position in the internal and external competitive marketplace;
- Ensure that appropriate training programs for all staff are identified, implemented and accessible, including assessing the workforce capability required to do the work
