**JOB SUMMARY**:
Scott Builders Inc requires energetic, motivated highly skilled **Commercial Carpenter-Foreman/woman** responsible for performing general constructions tasks as well as assisting the Site Superintendent in coordinating and executing daily job tasks and providing direction to workers on a variety of different projects.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Planning and constructing various types of commercial buildings including wood, steel and concrete with proven ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans/blueprints, prepare layouts in accordance to building codes
- Assist Superintendent with planning and coordinating work activities, materials and provide day to day direction of project activities and tasks to field staff in order to execute projects within the scope and timelines
- Train and develop apprentices and labourers
- Establish and maintain subcontractor relationships to ensure timelines, scope of work and commitments are met
- Assist the Superintendent with the completion of project documentation as required
- Ensure safety policies, procedures and best practices are adhered to by all on-site workers
- Oversee worksite in the absence of the Superintendent

**REQUIREMENTS**:
To qualify for this position, successful applicants will possess the following requirements:

- 5+ years of experience as a qualified and competent tradesperson with progressively increased responsibility including supervisory experience
- Completion of skilled trade program in related field (Red Seal certification preferred)
- Competency to operate heavy equipment with appropriate certification tickets
- Fall Protection certification would be an asset
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques
- Proven competency to mentor, train and provide guidance to workers
- Effective communication skills verbal and written
- Ability to build relationships
- Committed to providing exceptional client service
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently
- Ability to recognize and resolve issues/problems quickly and accurately
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable software
- Class 5 Drivers license is required
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test for employment and pre-access
- Flexibility in working periods of overtime and out of town
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Carpentry: 5 years (preferred)
- Supervising experience: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Drivers License (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
