**Location**:
- Midland/Penetanguishene/Tiny/Simcoe County (1 Opening Available)
**Responsibilities**:
Loading:
- Transfer material from stockpiles to feed concrete plant using a front-end wheel loader
- Maintain stockpiles
- Maintain communication with dispatcher/batcher to better understand production volume requirements and product specifications
- Ensure the correct material is being loaded in the correct bin
- Unload/Load precast concrete Blocks
- Ensure that returned concrete is poured into block moulds and that block making area is keep clean.
- Ensure block moulds are stripped and reset each morning.
- Use loader correctly, safely, and effectively
- Perform circle checks and pre-operation vehicle inspections and address deficiencies for correction
- Check all fluid levels before operating and grease daily
- Observe all equipment gauges and meters
- Maintain a clean, organized, mechanically sound, and loader
- Ensure bins are full at the end of the day with right material
Maintenance/Repair:
- Clean, lubricate/grease, and perform maintenance work on equipment, trucks, and plant
- Inspect trucks, equipment, and the plant for mechanical issues
- Perform roadside repairs
Concrete Quality Control:
- Perform Ready-Mix Concrete Testing
- Perform Air meter tests
- Perform Slump tests
- Cast cylinders
- Perform Temperature test
Other:
- Perform plant/yard duties as assigned by dispatcher/batcher/plant manager to assist in the efficient operation of the plant
- Maintain site cleanliness and perform general labour activities to keep the plant “tour ready”
- Assist the batcher when determining if sand and stone inventory levels will fulfill production requirements
Safety:
- Adhere to all health & safety precautions and rules specified by federal, provincial, and company rules including but not limited to: wearing PPE, attending safety meetings, performing pre-trip vehicle inspections, complete vehicle inspection reports, and reporting unsafe conditions, routes, or accidents
- Report issues and incidents to management
Pay rate will range from $25/hour to $30/hour based on experience operating a truck, ready-mix experience, license type, sonority, ability to operate manual transmission, other qualifications/skills/knowledge, responsibilities, and location.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- Valid G/G2 driver’s license is required
- Satisfactory Background Check
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience performing repairs/maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment
- Experience operating loaders and heavy equipment is required
- Be flexible to work overtime, weekends, long-days, short days, and different shifts as required
- Concrete knowledge and experience is **Preferred but is not required**
- Valid AZ/DZ driver’s license with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, and CVOR is **Preferred but is not be required**
- One-year truck driving experience is **Preferred but is not required**
- Ability to drive a manual transmission is **Preferred but is not be required**
- Previous experience operating a ready-mix truck is **Preferred but is not required**
- Must be able to reliably commute for this job
- Solid attendance and punctuality

- Problem solving skills-provide solutions for problems
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and complete tasks with little or not supervision
- Maintain an emphasis on safety by adhering to all health & safety precautions and rules specified by federal, provincial, and company rules
- Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs and work under a wide range of temperatures/weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Must be able to carry, climb, bend, reach, push, pull, grip, squat, etc.
