Bayview Rehabilitation currently has an opportunity for a part-time evening Physiotherapy Assistant.

Bayview Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic that serves North York, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and surrounding communities. The clinic has been in operation for over 45 years in its current location and is designated as a Community Physiotherapy Clinic (OHIP) by the Ministry of Health which will allow it to provide physiotherapy services to those who meet Ministry guided requirements. For those who do not qualify for this type of funding, we provide physiotherapy in addition to other rehabilitation services using various fee-for-service models.

**Summary of Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Work with the Physiotherapist to implement patient’s treatment program.
- Coordinate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the patient’s individual treatment needs.
- Work with patient’s families and caregivers to implement treatment plans and appropriate activities at home.
- Provide direct patient care - e.g. administering symptomatic modalities and supervising exercise programs.
- Maintain updated documentation on all the patients treated.
- Ensure the ongoing integrity and function of therapeutic equipment, treatment areas and gym which include using a washer and dryer to clean dirty linens and cleaning equipment after every use.
- Conduct work in a safe manner - prevention and identification and reporting of safety issues and problems taking corrective action.
- Adhere to our infection control practices.

**Summary of Qualifications and Skills**
- Diploma from a recognized college for completion of the Physiotherapy Assistant program.
- Demonstrated understanding of rehabilitation principles and ability to communicate and work successfully in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Proven ability to be responsible for carrying out delegated tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong communicator.
- High level of compassion and empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bending, kneeling and lifting.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a Community Physiotherapy (OHIP) clinic is an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
