Position Overview:
As a General Contractor, you will oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. Your role is to ensure the successful completion of projects within budget, on schedule, and according to quality standards. With your expertise in construction management and strong leadership skills, you will coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

**Responsibilities**:
Project management: Plan, organize, and manage construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Ensure projects progress smoothly, meet deadlines, and adhere to quality standards.

Contract administration: Prepare and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties involved in the project. Review and enforce contract terms, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Collaboration and coordination: Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other professionals involved in the project. Coordinate activities, resolve conflicts, and maintain effective communication to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.

Budget and cost control: Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and implementing cost control measures. Monitor financial performance to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.

Quality assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure construction activities meet established standards and regulations. Conduct regular inspections and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.

Safety and compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and take appropriate corrective actions.

Procurement and supply chain management: Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.

Risk management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project. Proactively address issues such as delays, conflicts, and unforeseen challenges to keep projects on track.

Client relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, providing updates, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Seek opportunities for repeat business and referrals.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Proven experience as a General Contractor or in a similar role within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction management principles, practices, and techniques.

Comprehensive understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and budgeting.

Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to oversee and motivate diverse project teams.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost estimation, and financial analysis.

Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges and make timely, informed decisions.

Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or licenses may be required based on local regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $17.42-$56.38 per hour

- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB T2T 3T2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Construction: 1 year (preferred)
- Skilled Labor: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's License (preferred)
