AWAC - An Association Advocating for Women and Community is a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter services for women and men along with housing and outreach services to both. AWAC's shelter is low-barrier and works from a non-judgemental, trauma informed, harm reduction practice. We are looking for compassionate, caring, self-driven individuals to join shelter team. Successful applicants will be responsible for monitoring shelter tenants and guests, ensuring their rights to privacy, dignity and confidentiality. Duties will include completing purse and pocket checks, intakes, preparing meals, assist clients with daily needs, ensuring the safety of clients and staff, laundry, and light housekeeping and assisting with storage facilities. The successful applicant will also ensure that services will meet the organizations established objectives and values.

**Qualifications;**

Minimum grade 12 Ability to maintain client/worker boundaries, Bondable, Food Safe First Aid Certificate, Strong ability to manage stress Good written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work various shifts. Experience working with homeless population Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Salary**: From $19.66 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
