**Summary**:
BabyGoRound (BGR) is a Lower Mainland based non-profit organization dedicated to serving low-income and vulnerable families by providing essential baby gear that ensures every child has the necessary items for a safe and healthy start in life. Over the past 12 years, BGR has supported more than 12,000 families, by collecting gently used baby gear from the community and then working with over 120 referral service agencies to identify the most vulnerable families that need essential support.
**Overview**:
BabyGoRound is hiring a part-time Family Support Worker (FSW) for our new Fraser Valley location, opening late January 2025, in Cloverdale. The FSW is instrumental to the program delivery by providing a safe and welcoming environment in conjunction with essential baby gear to the vulnerable families we support. Joining BGR means working in a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Being a part of opening the new location, the FSW will have the opportunity to help shape and enhance the effectiveness of the Baby Gear Distribution Program and strengthen Fraser Valley operations.
BGR’s new FSW will provide direct service delivery of our Baby Gear Distribution Program and play an important role in ensuring that we meet respective needs of our clients and achieve maximum impact. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Greet and interact with families who arrive at the store front for their appointment.
- Manage the fulfillment of family appointments in a thoughtful and caring manner.
- Assist volunteers on where to find gear/items as they complete bundles for families or in-person appointments.
- Work in collaboration with volunteers on processing donated gear/items:
- Receive gear donations; includes ensuring items are in good working condition before accepting them and tracking the receipt of the donations for inventory management.
- Prepare gear for distribution; check parts, safety straps, verify recalls, ensure cribs have printed instructions and clean items as necessary.
- Organize and maintain inventory/storage of gear to support efficient workflow.
- Work with volunteers to ensure the storefront is well stocked and neatly displayed.
- Organize unsuitable gear, garbage and recycling for disposal by the volunteer driver.
- Provide assistance to the Manager, Volunteer Services and Manager, Fraser Valley Region in areas of volunteer management.
- Administrative duties as assigned; may include printing appointment sheets, inputting inventory data or post-appointment client information in the appropriate system.
- Participate in donation days or community events outside of regular operating hours.

- Social work education or work experience is an asset.
- Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in non-profit program delivery is an asset.
- Experience managing volunteers is an asset.
- Knowledge of current baby gear in the market is an asset.
- Ability to safely lift up-to 40 pounds.
- Valid BC driver’s license, with suitable driver’s abstract/claims history, and be comfortable driving a van.
**The Team**: In this role, you will report to the Manager, Fraser Valley Region and will work closely with the Executive Director and Client Services Manager.
**Location**: Is responsible for the delivery of in-person services at our Cloverdale, Surrey location; however, 2-3 weeks of training will take place in our Kingsway, Vancouver location.
**Compensation**: $25/hour, with annual increases. Three (3) weeks of paid vacation plus a two-week paid December closure.
