For over 25 years, with its enthusiastic and community-based volunteers, Elder Help Peel (EHP) has provided seniors 55+ with caring and compassionate programs. **Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Content Writer will be responsible for the coordination of monthly newsletters and blog postings and in developing and implementing creative and fresh ideas that will move the brand and organization forward, ensuring visibility and a positive community reputation for the organization. This includes creating content and writing articles in English, conducting research, and helping manage our newsletter content funnel. Also work closely with other team members to brainstorm new topics and ideas, and attend meetings to discuss upcoming projects and assignments.

**Responsibilities and Duties: (but not limited to)**
- Write articles on various topics related to older adults and seniors, age 55+ such as ageism, affects of social isolation and loneliness, health and wellness, volunteerism and social programs, community events and even be creative and pick your own topics
- Conduct research on a wide range of topics to support the articles you write
- Write and manage high quality content to be posted on EHP web pages/Newsletters/Blog Posts/Campaign pieces
- Help manage the content funnel, ensuring that articles are published in a timely manner and meet the quality standards of Elder Help Peel
- Maintain social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) for posting newsletters and blog posts
- Work collaboratively with our team to brainstorm new topics and ideas for articles
- Attend meetings to discuss upcoming projects and assignments, and provide input and feedback as needed
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Strong writing skills and creativity - Show us your skills and passion
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a university or post-secondary program, with a passion for writing and creating content
- Ability to write compelling content
- Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
- Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Strong research skills, with the ability to find and analyze information from a variety of sources
- Familiarity with content management systems, such as WordPress is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Impeccable grasp of the English language
- Ability to create and edit newsletter articles and blog posts
- Manage time efficiently in order to meet content goals and deadlines
- Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word
- Proficiency with social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Proficiency with Canva graphic design tool, an asset

**Other Requirements**
- Submit cover letter plus resume
- Attend an online interview
- Must be vaccinated (2 primary doses min.) and willing to provide a copy of Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 proof of vaccination
- May be required to work some weekends or evenings, local travel
- Use of own laptop/computer
- Free municipal parking (temporary) - Own transportation and parking not reimbursed

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brampton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- content writing: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English fluently (required)
