**Overview**
Delta by Marriott Hotels Toronto Markham is part of the Sunray Group of hotels, we are dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience to all our guests and clients. This position will be reporting to the Banquets Manager.

**Duties**:

- 1. Event Setup: Set up chairs, linens, and other equipment according to the event’s floorplan and specifications

2. Equipment Management: Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any deficiencies to management

3. Room Layout: Adjust the room as necessary throughout the event to accommodate changing needs

4. Supply Management: Keep inventory of supplies and restock as needed

5. Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in all event spaces and in storage and service areas, vacuuming inside and outside function spaces and cleaning of windows inside and outside function spaces

6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with banquet staff, event planners and other hotel team members to execute event plans

7. Safety: Follow safety procedures and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for guests and staff

8. Teardown: After the event, teardown and clean the event space, ensure all equipment and furniture are properly stored

9. Coffee Service: Serve coffee breaks and continental breakfasts to banquet guests, ensuring prompt and accurate service and adhering to the hotel’s service standards. Monitor tables during coffee breaks for guests needs, restock as required and removing empty dishes and garbage, clean coffee machine, polishing cutlery and glasses

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a porter preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast pasted environment
- Guest-focused attitude with dedication to providing exceptional service
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift moderately heavy trays

Pay: $19.18 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
