**The opportunity**:
The Audit Assistant will participate in internal audit projects under the direction of the Audit Manager. Audits will be undertaken in accordance with the Audit Services’ office policies, procedures, and guidelines and in compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- University Degree (undergraduate/masters) in accounting, business, or related field of study required.
- Pursuing an accounting/internal audit designation is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or auditing environment required.
- Experience in internal auditing or compliance monitoring function is an asset.
- Experience using analytical tools for data analysis is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent analytical skills with sound judgement required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent software skills, including data analysis tools required.
- Ability to extract financial, management and operating information from various information systems and to interpret/assess technical information to reach logical conclusions and to identify issues and opportunities for improved processes required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships required.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, complete written summaries of analysis conducted required.
- Ability to organize daily/weekly tasks to ensure progress and timely completion of duties assigned required.
- Ability to effectively use technology to support and enhance audit processes required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
