We are mid-size construction company based out of Newmarket, ON. We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join us in achieving newer and greater organizational objectives.

**Overview**

As an estimator your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we understand all the requirements to successfully bid, win and execute a project. It is essential to have a strong attention to detail, effective time management, communication, prioritization skills and willingness to work independently.

**Duties**
- Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Responsible for preparing estimates and proposals on time.
- Analysis of plans, bill of quantities and project specifications to estimate labor, equipment and materials required for a scope of work.
- Perform quantity calculations and full take-offs for all tender items.
- Assessing the financial, technical, and operational risks of a project.
- Participate in the decision-making process whether to bid a project or not.
- Working closely with operations and the key members of the project team when the project is in the construction phase.
- Work directly with clients to understand and meet expectations, leverage relationships with existing clients to expand our service offerings, while continuing to grow new, productive relationships
- Prepare contracts and negotiate changes to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with Business Development; to identify client requirements and to track upcoming opportunities, prepare and submit proposals, tenders, and pre-qualifications in response to specific client project needs

**Required Knowledge and Skills**
- A combination of education and 2 years or more related experience managing remediation projects is required. A Degree in Civil Engineering would be an asset
- Experience in shoring and foundation projects is an asset
- Knowledge of data analysis, site characterization and remediation programs required

**Salary**: $35,166.18-$70,000.00 per year
