**Responsibilities include**:
Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to meet the organization's objectives by analyzing market trends
Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance. Delegate tasks, set goals, and monitor progress to ensure timely and efficient procurement operations.
Vendor Management: Support both purchasing and product development stakeholders in the identification and evaluation of potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with product managers and procurement leads to jointly negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to achieve the best value for the organization. Work in close co operation with the product and purchasing teams to maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Inventory Management: In collaboration with the inventory controller ensure inventory levels are monitored and develop inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and the risk of stockouts. Coordinate with various departments to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to support operational needs.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies throughout the procurement process, including international customs compliance. Mitigate risks related to procurement activities, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Implement best practices and utilize technology solutions to automate and optimize procurement workflows.
Operational support to logistics: Ensuring the supply chain is managed to align with logistics resources. Shipments arrive when scheduled and changes are communicated in advance to streamline the inbound pipeline of goods to our distribution centres.
Budget Management of International and Domestic inbound traffic: Develop and manage freight budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance. Prepare regular reports and analysis to provide insights into purchasing trends, expenses, and performance metrics.
**What you will bring to the team**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is required Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM) would be an asset.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers. Critical thinker with an aptitude for change management and process improvement, adept at communicating insights derived from analyses (interpret data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions).
- Strong cross-functional collaborator who can create authentic relationships with their team, and colleagues with the ability to motivate, influence, and engage others.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization internally and externally.
