**Data Quality Analyst - 2 positions**

OBI is looking for two Data Quality Analysts to join its neuroinformatics team. These roles will play a key part in supporting OBI related research projects that produce, share, and analyze high quality neuroscience data to advance neuroscience and brain discoveries via Brain-CODE. Brain-CODE is OBI’s large scale neuroinformatics platform for the collection, curation, sharing, and analysis of neuroscience data.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform data curation and quality reporting for data collected on OBI’s Brain-CODE platform.
- Ensure studies comply with OBI’s Data Quality Framework requirements including validating data against protocols, consent versions, ethics approvals, data guidelines, etc.
- Perform additional data validation, data processing, missing data analysis, outlier analysis, standards adoption analysis, semantic labelling, and metadata generation to support data discovery, collaboration, and analysis.
- Run training sessions and workshops with study teams to ensure adoption of the OBI Data Quality Framework and appropriate use of data capture and data curation tools such as REDCap, XNAT, LabKey and other software tools.
- Liaise with study personnel, service providers, and colleagues to ensure timely and complete upload of data to Brain-CODE.
- Work with the OBI neuroinformatics team and service providers in preparing ongoing data packaging and releases. This will include activities such as metadata processing, de-identification, and file packaging of data.
- Support the preparation of data cuts to fulfill data access requests by data users for analysis.
- Support the OBI Operations Lead with respect to tracking research protocols, ethics approvals and data management plans for research studies on an ongoing basis.
- Support the OBI Informatics Program Coordinator with secondary use of datasets.
- Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Support and contribute to the creation of new Data Quality Framework related training materials and instructions for data contributors and neuroinformatics platform users.
- Keep abreast of and communicate data quality standards, data quality trends and innovation opportunities.
- Support the OBI informatics team with respect to additional operation needs such as contracts, data access reviews, etc.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- BSc or higher degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., neuroinformatics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, bioinformatics, statistics, math, physics, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience working in data quality and curation. Experience with health research data and/or neuroscience data is preferred.
- Experience with more than one data science software tools such as Excel, Python, R, Matlab, or others.
- Experience with data quality assurance, quality control, and data curation in two or more modalities including clinical assessments, imaging data, time-series data, molecular data, omics data, and wearables data.
- Experience with health research data collection, monitoring, and curation procedures and software tools - experience with one or more platforms such as REDCap, XNAT, LabKey preferred.
- Experience writing and reusing Python or R code for data processing scripts preferred. Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks, Virtual Machines (VMs), containerized apps, and Git code versioning an asset.
- A solid understanding of data management best practices, information security, and data quality principles and practices are required.
- Cross data-modality experience is highly favourable. For example, experience working with health/research clinical assessment data with imaging data processing experience; or clinical assessment data with bioinformatics/genomics data processing experience.
- Possesses excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills and English proficiency with a willingness to teach and share lessons learned with the neuroinformatics team.
