Plateroom Technician, Prepress

Join the team Prepress Folding Cartons team as a Plateroom Technician and play a vital role in our dynamic production process As a Plateroom Technician, you'll be at the heart of our operations, overseeing the seamless movement of materials from Prepress to the pressroom as well as liaise between key departments including Prepress, Pressroom, CSC, and Sales, fostering effective communication and collaboration. Your keen eye for quality control will be instrumental in upholding our standards, while your adept management of plateroom equipment and schedules will ensure our production requirements are consistently met.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Previous pressroom or plate making experience an asset
- Experience with or detailed understanding of pressroom operations
- Self-starter, able to initiate work and work to a production schedule
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and quality control requirements
- High attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating system and data input
- Proficiency with online/web-based scheduling and reporting
- Dedication to safety and safe-work principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent mechanical aptitude

**Responsibilities**:

- 5S and Safety in the Plateroom
- On-time delivery of printing plates to all folding carton presses
- Production of high and low-resolution printed proofs for customers and presses
- Management and production of coating blankets for al presses (offset and digital)
- Collating orders and materials (plates, coating blankets, proofs) required by the pressroom and for outsource vendors
- Imposing layouts for plating
- Managing the output and flow of work to meet production schedules
- Quality Control checks of plates and low-resolution proofs
- Document management for new work
- Managing plateroom material inventories (plates, chemicals, ink, paper)
