This role sits within LBC Capital, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank.
Reporting to the AVP Legal, the Compliance and Registrations Manager's coordinates the Compliance team as well as the Registrations team. The Compliance team is responsible for administering the business units’ compliance program and operational risk management. The Registrations team is responsible for administering the business units’ security portfolio. The incumbent manages the teams’ senior advisors and analysts.

**Responsibilities**:
- Key responsibilities related to Compliance team are:
- Review reports and analysis prepared by team members to ensure rigorous, compliant work and prepare various reports and analysis.
- Advise and offer any needed support to the business line and act as an expert on AML/ATF, privacy regulation, compliance and operational risk management.
- Ensure that the business line's procedures comply with current standards.
- Collaborate on a regular basis with the Laurentian Bank’s compliance team, internal audit department and legal department.
- Promote a strong compliance culture within the business unit.
Key responsibilities related to the Registrations team are:
- Know and understand the laws and rules related to the movable security in the various Canadian provinces and territories.
- Know and understand the rules related to the registration, amendment, and discharge of security at the different Personal Property Security Registries.
- Review reports and analysis prepared by team members to ensure rigorous, compliant work.
- Ensure that the relevant business unit’s employees have adequate knowledge and understanding of the rules related to movable security.
General responsibilities are:
- Coordinate the work of the team members. Foster a motivating work environment in which results are delivered on time.
- Contribute to the development of the team members; ensure that each person receives regular coaching.
- Identify areas of improvement and solutions with team and business line.
- Act as a project manager for various projects identified by the business line.
- Support the AVP Legal and perform any tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his/her superior or required as part of his/her duties.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of the laws and rules related to the movable property security
- Knowledge of the rules related to the different Personal Property Security Registries
- At least three years of experience in people management and/or project management
- Experience in banking and equipment financing
- Ability to make decisions and find solutions
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to evolve in a dynamic environment and to manage several files at the same time
- Ability to work under pressure while respecting deadlines and projected deliverables
- Excellent organizational skills, effective management of priorities and attention to detail
- Strong coaching skills
- Project management experience (an asset)
- Bilingualism* is an asset
