**STATUS: Temporary Full Time (approximately May 2023 - January 2025 - may be extended or end sooner)**
**SALARY: $33.30 - $42.04**

Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Supervisor is responsible to work collaboratively to ensure improvement and excellence within the department. In collaboration with the Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for:

- Supervise and instruct employees engaged in the daily operation of the Food Services Department
- Service and delivery to both patients and retail customers
- Approving time and payroll, and managing inventory
- Administering HR processes and protocols related to providing orientation and training, delivering performance management, discipline, staff engagement, and recruitment.
- Working collaboratively to ensure quality service delivery in a timely and safe manner within a very fast-paced environment
- Ensuring high standards of food quality, safety and sanitation

The Supervisor demonstrates accountability and commitment in order to develop a work environment that exemplifies inter-professional and ethical practice professional autonomous decision-making empowerment, integrative thinking and problem solving.

**HOURS**:
The successful applicant will be expected to work 37.50 hours per week. In addition, the successful applicant must be flexible in adjusting their schedule to meet the needs of the department on an ongoing basis. This may include evenings/weekend shifts as required. In addition, the Supervisor, will also be required to occasionally be on-call.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Successful completion of post-secondary diploma or degree, Food and Nutrition Management Diploma preferred;
- Membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years’ Supervisory experience preferred within a healthcare environment;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of unionized work environments and collective agreements;
- Demonstrated behaviours supporting our core values/mission with values-based leadership and a proven track record
- Experience leading in an accountable culture using evidence based leadership practices and ensuring a commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability through completion of departmental goals and objectives
- Experience ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements related to food service operations
- Inventory management experience and purchasing supplies for a Food Services department
- Experience processing invoices and completing monthly summaries for review by the Manager and Finance department
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results with excellent financial and quality management
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety at STEGH
- Demonstrated leader, ability to develop self and others through coaching, mentoring and formal processes
- Self-directed and highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of leaders and stakeholders
- Recognition, understanding and demonstrated Emotional Intelligence (EI), particularly emotional self-awareness, assertiveness, optimism, stress tolerance and empathy
- Demonstrated track record as a highly regarded contributor within the leadership team
- Experience leading in an accountable culture using evidence based leadership practices
- Experience in a LEAN environment with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in healthcare preferred
- Well-developed proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, and working knowledge of Food Services software programs (i.e. Work orders, tracking, Kronos, ORMED, CBORD, etc.) would be a definite asset.
