- The Mechanical Technician - Underground acts as a technical specialist providing underground technical expertise on bulk systems, products, and services to the customer in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.**_Work Schedule: 14 x 14_**

**What you will be doing**
- Ensures the safety and protection of fellow employees, customers, the public and the environment Delivers the operational services to the volume, service type and quality specified by client expectations
- Liaises with client regarding planned blasts and product requirements.
- Provides technical expertise on products, loading and blast patterns where applicable.
- Manages explosives magazines and bulk products.
- Leads team while managing a shot in regard to direction and safety.
- Takes responsibility for the safety of any person entering a designated work area of a blast whether Orica or Mine personnel.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen (required)
- Safety Training (asset)
- Must be comfortable with confined spaces.
- Blasting experience in underground mining
- Well-developed troubleshooting/problem solving and investigative capabilities
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mining, Civil) or similar field (asset)
- Project Management skills
