RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
This maternity leave coverage position is focused on sample coordination for multiple research projects, data for clinical correlation to the samples (oncogenomic and responses to treatment), and consenting patients on biobanking and oncogenomics studies.

General Duties
Daily interdisciplinary interaction is required with our research team, doctors, the pathologists, surgeons, and interventional radiologists to ensure that enough samples are taken for our many research projects and that patients are consented to these projects per GCP. Superior organization and prioritization skills are a requirement. Excellent communication skills with sensitive topics are a requirement due to the nature of consenting this population when they are in the diagnostic period and/or at relapse.

This position requires the person to be on site every day as our doctors need someone available to consent and coordinate samples rapidly when there are new patients or potential relapsed patients.

The clinical research portfolio for this position includes cancer biology studies. The particular studies are ORCYD Biobank (Dr. Nada Jabado), SIGNATURE Oncogenomic study (Dr. Nada Jabado/Dr. Catherine Goudie), PROFYLE (Dr. Nada Jabado), and Children’s Oncology Group (COG) biology studies.

This post is for a maternity leave coverage, however the pediatric oncology/hematology clinical research unit has multiple projects and there may be more opportunities at the end of the maternity leave, though this cannot be guaranteed.

**Field of Study**: Scientific Discipline preferred

**Other education considered an asset for this position**:
Certification in GCP, Health Canada Division 5, TCPS/IATA, Familiar with Laboratory SOPs

**Work Experience**: 2 years in a clinical research setting preferred

**Other Requirements**:

- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Attention to detail and accuracy,
- Good analytical and logic skills,
- Problem assessment and problem solving abilities,
- Demonstrate diplomacy, discretion and good judgment,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook),
- Skills in creating and maintaining databases,
- Excellent critical thinking skills in a dynamic work environment with tight deadlines.

Additional information

**Status**: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)

**Pay Scale**: $42,260.40 - $78,460.20, commensurate with education & work experience

**Work Shift**: 8 AM to 4 PM

**Work Site**: Glen
