Our Grocery department is an integral part of our customers experience.. It takes a dedicated team of knowledgable experts to keep it stocked and presentable. Applicants must be ready to work in a fast paced environment, be willing to learn and have a flexible work schedule. There is room for growth and advancement within the company and department. Wages are open for negotiation based on experience and not limited to the outlined range.

Previous experience in a similar position in the Grocery section is a prerequiste.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
As a Grocery Manager Assistant at Marilu's Market, you'll be an integral part of supporting the Grocery Manager in maintaining the efficient and successful operation of our grocery department. Your role will involve assisting with various aspects of departmental management to ensure optimal inventory management, exceptional customer service, and maximum profitability. You will assist in meticulous monitoring and management of inventory levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing waste and out-of-stock occurrences. You'll aid in utilizing sales trends and seasonal demands to place orders with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms to secure the best value for the store. You will support overseeding the layout and presentation of grocery products, maximizing sales through attractive displays and promotions. Assist in supervising and training departmental staff will be paramount to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. You'll manage budgets, analyze sales data, and implement cost-saving measures to enhance profitability while upholding the quality and freshness of our products. By staying informed about industry trends and competitors' offerings, you'll help make informed decisions to provide excellent service. Proactively addressing issues and identifying opportunities for improvement will be key to maintaining Marilu's Market's high standards and fostering a positive work environment.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
Include, but are not limited to:

- Assist the Grocery Manager in monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimize stock availability, minimize waste, and prevent out-of-stock occurrences. Collaborate on inventory counts, stock rotations, and restocking processes to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Support the Grocery Manager in utilizing sales trends, seasonal demands, and inventory data to place orders with suppliers. Assist in negotiating pricing and terms to secure the best value for the store while maintaining high product quality and freshness.
- Aid in overseeing the layout and presentation of grocery products to maximize sales through attractive displays and promotions. Assist in creating visually appealing displays and signage to highlight featured products and promotions.
- Help supervise and train departmental staff to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. Assist in scheduling, providing guidance on product knowledge, customer service standards, and safety protocols.
- Support the Grocery Manager in managing budgets, analyzing sales data, and implementing cost-saving measures to enhance profitability. Assist in tracking expenses, monitoring variances, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors' offerings, and customer preferences to make informed decisions and provide excellent service. Assist in conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product assortment improvements and expansion.
- Proactively address issues and identify opportunities for improvement within the grocery department. Collaborate with the Grocery Manager and other team members to implement process improvements, enhance departmental efficiency, and maintain high standards.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback, address inquiries, and ensure a positive shopping experience. Assist in fulfilling special orders, providing product recommendations, and resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards related to grocery operations. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication within the grocery department and across other departments. Coordinate with other department managers to support cross-functional initiatives and promote overall store success.
