**Main Responsibilities**:Under the supervision of QNW management, the Legal Policy Analyst is responsible to:

- Analyze draft laws and programmes and develop the strategic orientations of QNW.
- Conduct research and analyses, write briefs and information notes, follow up on ministerial correspondence and, if necessary, consult with various stakeholders.
- Advise and support the President in her dealings with political or administrative authorities.
- Maintain ongoing contact with departmental officials covering Indigenous issues and, if necessary, support dossiers with the various departments.
- Contribute to media events related to her files (press releases, files, press conferences).
- Make oral and/or written presentations to committees and other events affecting the Association's interests (seminars, round tables, annual general meetings).
- Participate in various round tables, attend and/or actively participate in conferences dealing with the interests of Indigenous women in Quebec and elsewhere.
- Monitor developments in the area of Indigenous women's rights at the local, provincial, federal and international levels of government in order to identify issues likely to have an impact on laws and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Perform any other tasks required by management from time to time.

**Job Requirements**:

- College or university degree in women's and gender studies, public policy, social work or any other field deemed relevant to this position.
- Knowledge of Indigenous issues.
- Knowledge of MMIWG.
- Creativity and ability to develop, implement and manage projects.
- Professionalism and confidentiality.
- Good interpersonal, time management and deadline management skills.
- Good analytical and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and positive leadership.
- Bilingualism - English and French.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
