**Job Description**:
Under the guidance of the Leader, Pharmacy Support Services, you will join a team of pharmacists dedicated to prescription drug management and disability claim optimization. Prescription drug and disability benefits are a major component to any employee benefit program. The Pharmacy Consultant will provide pharmacy expertise that will allow Canada Life to develop the best products and create the best solutions to support both our drug and disability benefit plans.

This position can be located in the following head office locations: Winnipeg, Ottawa, or Toronto._**

**What you will do**
- As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, assist in balancing the health needs of plan members with the cost management needs of plan sponsors, while contributing to the long-term sustainability of drug plans
- Provide client-specific support and recommendations
- Provide consultative support for management of drug and disability claims.
- Develop and maintain Prior Authorization criteria and protocols in collaboration with the Drug Strategy and Drug Claims Management teams.
- Partner with pharmacists, nurses, and medical consultants to provide clinical opinions.
- Provide support and recommendations for custom formularies.
- Liaise with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Using expert drug knowledge, conduct research and analysis on various drug and disability policies and strategies.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of reference material related to drug and disability policy.
- Maintain professional competence and expertise in the pharmacy profession through the on-going review of current pharmacy and medical literature, professional continuing education as well as through contact with professional peers.

**What you will bring**
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and licensed to practice in a province of Canada
- Minimum 5 years directly related experience
- Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset
- Demonstrated clinical judgment.
- Effective decision-making and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage relationships and work within a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
- Creative problem-solving skills and strong customer orientation.
- Ability to travel
