About the Position:
We are looking for Finance Operations Team Lead to join our Toronto office. This is a full-time hybrid position.
The Finance Operations Team Lead reports directly to the Finance Director and serves as their key collaborator. This role provides critical leadership within the department, ensuring day-to-day operational excellence and contributing to strategic initiatives that drive organizational success.
The Finance Operations Team Lead holds a pivotal role within the Finance Operations Department, driving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial processes. With over 10 years of extensive experience in finance operations and management, this role contributes significantly to organizational success through strategic financial planning and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Team Lead collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, streamline procedures, and support business objectives.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record with at least 10 years of progressive experience in finance operations, including 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex process-related information to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
**Responsibilities**:
**Operational Leadership**:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring payroll compliance.
**Process Optimization and Automation**:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes through automation and optimization to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
**Working Capital Management**:
- Assist the Finance Director in optimizing working capital to support business operations effectively. Maintain the working capital reporting package.
Risk Management:
- Support the implementation of risk management processes under the guidance of the Finance Director. Maintain the risk management reporting package.
