**POSITION: Medical Records Transcriptionist**

**UNIT: Health Records**

**STATUS**:Part-Time**

**START DATE**:As soon as possible**

**SALARY RANGE: $25.73 - $27.35 per hour**

As part of the Health Records Department, the Transcriptionist is responsible for the timely and accurate transcription and distribution of dictated medical reports.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Terminology Course (Less than 6 months)
- Medical Transcription Course (6 months to 1 year)
- 3 - 6 months previous experience in a health care environment/medical transcription

**EFFORT**:

- Minimal degree of Physical Effort
- Average degree of mental effort and analysis

**POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**:

- Prepare correspondence in response to written request for copies of personal health information
- Ability to think proactively, work independently with mínimal supervision and guidance in a team oriented environment
- Perform Minutes of Surgical Tissues Audit, Death Summary Audits, and occasional Medical Staff

Meeting Minutes
- Transcribe confidential reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Lead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans.
- Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles.

**HOURS OF WORK**: Part-time Hours, Monday to Friday - 0800-1600

**Job Type**: Part-time

- Day shift
