Service Writer

As a member of our Service Department, you are responsible for the smooth workflow of service work through the department and ultimately delivery to the customer. The work should be tracked and completed profitably, with no surprises to the customer and in a time effective manner.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Customer service (in person and by phone)
- Deal with customer issues, requests, questions and complaints in a timely and friendly manner
- Work Order processing
- General office and administrative duties
- Planning and managing customer work orders by booking appointments
- Writing work orders based on customer input
- Posting the work orders to the schedule, ensuring deadlines are met
- Keep customers updated as needed regarding ongoing repairs and offer explanations for work required and/or suggested so that customers can make informed decisions

**Requirements**:

- Good listener: Must be able to accurately capture customer needs and translate to Repair Orders in a concise and complete manner.
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- Time management
- Multi-tasker with a good memory: There can be lots of moving parts and as a service writer you will need to be able to keep track of what is happening with various jobs, technicians and parts needs.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other productivity software
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- Hands-on: Willing to help with whatever is needed to provide the level of service our customers deserve. This may include helping with loose outboards, wiping down boats, helping techs with parts needs, providing estimates, etc.
- Up-beat demeanour: We are in the business of helping people have FUN with their boats
- Technical / mechanical / marine background not required, but a desire & willingness to LEARN all three will make all the difference to long term success.

FULL TIME / PERMANENT position (Tuesday thru Saturday)

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
