Swimming Instructor

As a swimming instructor with Coastal shores Swim school you will teach lessons to a variety of age groups ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. You understand Life Saving Society Standards and are prepared to create individualized lesson plans for all participants you teach. We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about swimming and making an impactful difference in the community

**Job Requirements**
- **Certificates, Awards, Licences**_
- Lifesaving Society, Life saving Instructor Certificate
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate - Level "C" and AED
- National Lifeguard Service Award - Pool Option
- Valid Class 5 drivers Licence for Province of B.C.
- **Experience**_
- 5+ years as a lifeguard/Swimming instructor
- Teaching age groups 6 months - 70+ years
- **Position Responsibilities **_
- Exceptional Knowledge and commitment to the improvement of skills and understand swimming progressions to ensure all participants are comfortable as they move on to more challenging items.
- Knowledge of Teaching a variety of levels in Lifesaving Society curriculum.
- Provide verbal feedback to all participants and parents when needed
- Write report cards containing descriptive and specific feedback
- Teach from inside the water at all times
- Comfortable being in outdoor heated pools and are prepared to dress for the weather to ensure you maintain adequate body temperature
- Communicate with Coastal Shores manager upon Start and Completion of shift
- Provide Coastal Shores Manager with Lesson Completion sheets after Lesson Sets are done.
- Maintain healthy relationships with co workers and lesson participants
- Keep all certifications valid
- Complete routine tasks such as setting up the pool equipment to prepare for lessons
- Assist participants with any questions or concerns
- You are Self motivated
- You have a passion for swimming and teaching and are enthusiastic and energetic in the water
- You are reliable and able to work independently and efficiently
- You are Consistently Reliable

**Salary**: From $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Swim Instruction: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- National Lifeguard Pool Option (preferred)
- CPR Certification + AED (preferred)
- Life Saving Society Instructor (preferred)
