**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this position, you will:

- Lead the examination and analysis of complex planning proposals (e.g., planning justification reports) and recommendations, prepares recommended modifications and decisions
- Identify problems/concerns with existing programs or legislation and recommending changes or improvements in program structure/delivery
- Prepare, present, lead and participate in meetings, seminars, workshops and educational sessions on matters
- Provide guidance and advice over municipal planning processes and the development of municipal official plans and zoning by-laws

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You require a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's licence to drive to municipal meetings, seminars, conferences

**Technical Knowledge and Experience**:

- You have land use planning experience with demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario planning system, related legislation, policies, and Ontario government priorities, policy development and decision-making processes
- You have proven leadership, organization and project management skills to participate in and/or lead multidisciplinary teams and multiple projects

**Research and Analytical Skills**:

- You have demonstrated research skills to undertake complex studies; analyze information and develop models related to a range of planning activities, such as environmental, land use and social planning matters

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have experience performing analyses and preparing reports using word processing, data management and spreadsheet software
- You have demonstrated written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate complex information to Senior Management, and the Minister
- You have collaborative skills to work with other ministries, municipal councils, Indigenous communities and officials, planning groups
- You can represent the Ministry as an expert witness at various boards, Tribunals and OLT hearings, etc
