**Qualifications**:

- Masters Degree in Literacy, Numeracy, Assessment, Curriculum, Technology, or Inclusive Education would be an asset.
- Knowledge and strategies related to effective French Immersion best instructional practice and curriculum development
- Deep knowledge of French Immersion curriculum
- Knowledge of best assessment and instructional practice

- Experience implementing effective literacy and numeracy achievement strategies
- Data-driven coaching experience within the NS student-focused coaching model
- Polished presentation skills

- Successful French Immersion teaching and/or coaching experience at the P to 12 levels
- Demonstrated classroom effectiveness

- Strong personal technology skills
- Exemplary technology integration in the classroom
- Strong knowledge of Literacy, Numeracy and Technology Initiatives in French Immersion contexts
- Demonstrated ability to successfully integrate Literacy, Numeracy and Technology support in French Immersion contexts
- Training and experience in French Oral Proficiency Interview and/or equivalent
- Training in Running Records
- Training in Early Literacy Support (Observational Survey)
- Knowledge and use of assessment as and for learning strategies
- Knowledge of the NS Standards of Teaching
- Knowledge of the NS Inclusive Education Policy

**Task Dimensions**:
Supports French Immersion initiatives for the Region. For example:

- Supporting the delivery of the French Immersion curriculum at P- 12 levels to ensure that all outcomes are being taught
- Provide support to Literacy and Numeracy based teachers P-12
- Work with French Immersion teachers to improve instructional practice
- Supporting Coordinators and school administrators in the delivery of the French Immersion programs at P-6 levels
- Working with new classroom teachers and teachers new to the grade P-12 in the area of Literacy, Numeracy, FSL strategies, classroom management, assessment practices, culturally responsive teaching and technology integration.
- Coaching French Immersion teachers P-12 in delivering curriculum and assessment for learning strategies.
- Co-planning, co-teaching and coaching lessons with teachers to improve their skills in developing lessons using various assessment techniques.
- Organizing and presenting Professional Development for French immersion teachers grades P-12.
- Implementing new curriculum, new textbooks and resources P-12.
- Providing leadership for regional professional development days.
- Ensuring that all PD activity conforms to the Region’s Student Success Plan priorities.
- Participating on applicable interview teams as required.
- Contributing to and participating in high functioning Collaborative Learning Teams with teachers and with other coaches
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Performing other related duties as required._
