Complex Needs Support Specialist

The Action Group is a non-profit organization that provides a range of services to adults with developmental disabilities in Central Alberta. The Enhanced Housing Program is a new service approach designed to accommodate adults with developmental disabilities who due to multiple factors have been unsuccessful in securing community living options. The facility provides 24/7 residential support to 16 individuals with complex service needs who have a range of cognitive, behavioral and mental health support requirements and will provide a comprehensive range of therapy and support in a specialized environment in the town of Ponoka, Alberta.
The Action Group is currently seeking a full-time and part-time Complex Needs Support Specialist. You will be required to support individuals with complex behavioral needs in a twenty-four hour secure community residential setting. The program provides specialized housing and support, for eligible adults, focusing on wellness, safety, life-skill development and community inclusion.
The Specialist works in consultation with the service team to identify potential risks and initiates action to manage risks through consistent implementation of the Behavioral Support Plan and a collaborative approach to monitoring the effectiveness of individualized strategies and client well-being. The Specialist will work directly with the individual and facilitate community engagement
**Qualifications**
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexible
- Highly organized
- Excellent time management
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team, establish clear boundaries and maintain a structured routine
- **Requirements**:
- Post-Secondary degree in Human Services or relevant Post-Secondary Diploma combined with specialized training or enhanced knowledge related to mental health and dual diagnoses
- Two - five years of experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral challenges
- Valid driver's license/reliable transportation
- Clean criminal record check

- $30.75 starting wage
- Various shifts available
