London, Canada Generate Upcycle Full time

Generate Upcycle is hiring a Controller in London, ON The position will report to the Finance Director, and will be a hands-on and participative manager, leading the daily functions of the Canadian finance team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Management of finance team with functional areas including, but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, government filings & statutory requirements; intercompany processes and reconciliation; general accounting requirements, maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations, statutory financial reporting and audit compliance.
- Manage the financial reporting process and month-end close, preparing timely, organized, and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual statements.
- Ensure proper financial control systems are in place to manage risk and audit compliance.
- Manage the preparation and tracking of plant operational and capital improvement budgets.
- Perform capital cost/benefit analysis of capital improvements.
- Development and tracking of KPI's and creation of dashboards to assess weekly/monthly performance supporting the company's strategic direction.
- Management of financial ERP system and other financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate with global finance team on shared initiatives..
- Assist with building, maintaining, and interpreting complex financial modelling/forecasting.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

- Three (3) or more years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Post-secondary three-year diploma/degree plus professional certification or equivalent in Finance and accounting
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience
- Experience using ERP systems
- Experience in government reporting
- CPA or MBA preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking and quantitative skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
- Must be well organized and able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with a collaborative, driven team.
- Safety conscious and professional.
- Advanced level of knowledge in Excel; extensive knowledge of Work and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work overtime during occasional peak periods.

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

- Hybrid position located in London, Ontario

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
